I'm now in my 11th year working as a full time artist.
Am I tiring of painting, feeling the strain of repetition and getting bored of the subject matter?
Definitely not. My work feels fresher than ever, I have a better understanding of light, space and composition and my technique and skill set improves yearly and I have a list of projects, paintings and commissions as long my arm.
This includes a portfolio type, hardback book of 100 of my paintings from the last 10 years,
(available soon),
an incredibly detailed watercolour painting of London's Natural History Museum that I'll put into competition at some point (pictured below in it's current state),
I have unfinished business with various children's picture books (pictured below is 1 of 12 double page spread from "Pipped to the Post By a Beak") Might need to work on the title,
and then there are the landscapes. The inspiration for watercolours and oils of our wonderful Exmoor, Somerset and Devon is never ending. Kilve Beach, Porlock Marsh, Porlock Weir, The Barle, Landacre Bridge, Broadsands Beach, Minehead's North Hill, Dunkery Beacon, Selworthy Beacon, The Quantocks, Lee Bay, St. Audries Bay, Valley of Rocks, Tarr Steps, Chetsford, Lynton and Lynmouth. The list goes on and on! Any way, here are few of my latest landscapes. Some of my all time favorites.
