It's been a year since I last wrote a blog. A productive year of renovating and decorating at home and at the studio producing an array of fresh new watercolours. Also, a successful year exhibiting in a number of open submission shows including the Bath Society of Artists open and ACE open. I won the Derek Balmer Painting Prize at the RWA and the public choice award at Ilminster Art Centre. What will next year hold ?

I hope you enjoy this compilation of some of my recent works. Happy scrolling.

"Heather". A rare example of one of my still lifes. Available soon. I'm currently deciding on a frame for this one.

"Hội An - Gift Shop". Annie, the kids and I had a visit to Vietnam earlier in 2025. What a trip!

I'm thinking of submitting this one to the "Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour" annual open in January. Fingers crossed!

"Red Tree". £650. The light from the setting sun exaggerates the red of a Scots Pine in the Blackdown Hills just west of the Wellington Monument. Original watercolour currently available as I write this.

It seems a distant memory, those leaf laden Oaks in the late spring of 2025. This is the woodland above Burrowhayes campsite at Horner. Available in my Studio/Gallery and from my website.

Lee Bay 6. We clambered across the rocks and out of sight of he beach to achieve this view. Razor Bills were nesting above. We had to dodge the occasional jet of yellow guano. This one is available as a print. The original is currently at The Old Brick Workshop near Wellington as part of their Christmas market.

A spring walk through the Pines at my favourite spot on North Hill in Minehead. That's my wife Annie illuminated by the evening sun. This painting is at my gallery at the moment and available as a print in various sizes on my website.

A typically Exmoor scene. Heather (this time not in a jam jar) and Gorse. Available in it's original from and also as a print along side it's sister piece of which that original has sold. Prices and sizes of all of these work can be seen on my website.

I'm obsessed by this little Kingfisher. Well, any Kingfisher to be fair. This is The Hawn. A four part lake behind the chalets at Dunster Beach where Kingfishers regularly frequent. This print is now available too.

Some more Wintery Reeds from The Hawn. This original watercolour framed in Oak is £1200 and available to view at my gallery or you can buy direct from my website.

"Spring Woodland " near Dulverton, is currently at Lantic Gallery in Tiverton. Now also available as a print.

Another from the series. These are incredibly time consuming, a labour of love.

Also, available from my website.

And finally this year's Christmas card. "Kingfisher in the Snow". Any excuse. Available to buy next Christmas.

Lots more to see on the website, some old some new. Might be just the thing you're looking for.

Thanks for reading and hope to see you soon.

Do drop into my Minehead gallery to see what I'm up to and please do ask if you have any questions, queries or requests.

Very best wishes

Leo
